The Higher Education Ministry has announced that the final examinations and assessments for polytechnic and community college diploma and certificate students under the December 2019 academic session have been cancelled.

In a statement yesterday, the ministry said the decision was made following the extension of the Movement Control Order (MCO) until April 14 and the government’s plan to convert polytechnics and community colleges into temporary surveillance centres or quarantine stations for Covid-19.

The ministry stated the semester assessment grades will instead be based on continuous assessment scores.

In accordance with the MCO, students who are still on campus are required to remain in their hostels or other private residences, while students who are at their family residences are requested to remain in their respective units until further notice.

A separate notice will be issued for undergraduate polytechnic students.
